Site Updates – November/December 2020

It’s been a while since the last site updates post. A lot has been going on in my life (college), and as such, I haven’t had a lot of time to work on older independent projects, such as my main website and portfolio.

You’ll be happy to know that I’ve been working on a ton of independent projects since heading to college. I’ve started 4 independent projects – one of which is on the visual portfolio (PyWeather 2 under Experiments). However, none of them have made it to the main website with a full writeup of how things work, mainly due to these projects still being in a relatively early stage.

In the coming weeks, I’m planning on updating both my main website and portfolio with all the projects I’ve made (aside from one that I can’t really show off…more on this later). This includes a full writeup of PyWeather 2, and new articles about two more web-based projects I’ve made in the mean time.

Unfortunately, the third web-based project that I’ve worked the longest on cannot be published, which sucks. While the third project connects back to me (the copyright statement links to owenthe.dev), I don’t want this going the other way around (where people on my site can find out the site I’m running).

It’s mainly due to that I reverse engineered a system, then made a better UI for it, and it probably violates the ToS of the service in some form or fashion. My goal has been to keep the project pretty low-key with friends that I know and not really make a fuss about it.

That’s all the website updates coming soon! ETA is around December 20. Until then, I’ll see if I can squeeze in some time to write site articles.

(of course, a Dovetail’s DLC update will come soon!)
